I have replaced my old cd combo drive with a dvd rw drive and my laptop wont recogise the new drive. I know it has charge because the light flashes when i put in a disc but it wont show up in My Computer. How can i solve this? THere are now drivers that came with it? I have tried to install firmware but i dont know how to run .BIN files. Any help gratefully appreciated. Sarah
Try going into your device manager and uninstall all of your drives listed along with your IDE controllers. Then reboot your system and let windows install the drives. Let us know if that works.
