I copied some shows off of cable with my ATI ALL In Wonder 96oo video card and it gives the files .vcr extentions. I then converted the files to Mpeg 1 or 2 files. They are about at least 6gb in size. I want to convert them to avi so that I can then convert them to dvd format. What program could I use to convert an Mpeg file at 6gb in size down to and avi or dvd to fit on a 4.7gb disc? Thanks.

Well Mpeg-2 is allready the Correct format for DVD so you don"t want to convert it to AVI....

The easiest way I can think of to Put this 6gb Mpeg-2 file onto DVD is to use "DVD-Shrink" in "Re-Author" mode...If you Look in the "Guides" section it should explain how to do it....

You can also use something like "VSO DivXToDVD" (Freeware version) which you can download in the Software section....

Next time if you Capture your Video useing the Correct Bitrate then the File should be small enough to fit on a DVD without re-encodeing it....

    Cheers
