alright, i promise this will be the last post i do. thanx to arniebear for the DVDsanta website. ive downloaded the software and its told me how to burn to DVD. basically, what is the difference between DVD-R and DVD+R discs, which are recommended. my computer is DVD-RW compatatable, does this have any relevance? thanx again
Yes, unless your dvd burner say DVD+/-R then you can only use DVD-R to backup with. The difference is just the format in which the data is recorded on the CD/DVD. Ex VHC and 8mm tapes. With DVDs one of the first companys patented DVD/CD+ format and the others formed DVD/CD- format or vice versa but the to exist so that one doesnt have to pay the other for thier copy right use privies.
If your burner can only do -R format then that is what you use. The -R is more compatible with older standalone players.
