I bought some more sermon CDR's from my Foursquare (Full Gospel/Pentecostal) church last Friday. They buy whatever cheap bulk media they can get & use it both for CD mastering in the sound booth and CDR duplication in the bookstore. All the discs I've bought (so far) play fine & they are on all kinds of media brands like TY & Ritek (good) to Gigastorage, Lead Data & CMC which we know are poorer quality. Well these discs (the 5 I recently bought) are light blue on the back so I thought "Oh boy, TY!" but nope. Checking with Nero CD-DVD Speed tells me they are Lead Data. The discs check out fine with no errors (1x master & 4x dulicator speeds). Here is the ATIP. Manufacturer : Lead Data Code : 97m26s54f Disc Type : CD-R Usage : General Recording Layer : Dye Type 4: Long Strategy (Cyanine, AZO) Recording Speed : n/a Capacity : 79:59.74 703 MB Additional Capacity : n/a Overburn Capacity : not tested They are a lighter blue the Azo TY's which are a darker blue. Here is the ATIP from a dark blue TY disc. Manufacturer : Taiyo Yuden Code : 97m24s01f Disc Type : CD-R Usage : General Recording Layer : Dye Type 1: Long Strategy (Cyanine, AZO) Recording Speed : n/a Capacity : 79:59.72 703 MB Additional Capacity : n/a Overburn Capacity : not tested They are both long stratagy but the Lead Data is type 4 while the TY is type 1. I didn't know Lead Data was making Azo discs....
