Problem Lenovo Z710 Bios password

    HI all has been a long time since i was on here.. i just picked up a Lenovo Z710 laptop and damn kids got a bios password on it and now i am locked out anyone know where and or how i can reset it?

    I know on toshiba laptops in the past there are jumpers u can short out to get it working.. HELP ANYONE?

    ya i saw this already does not work for my z710
    anyone else?

    did you pop the battery that is in the bottom left corner of your picture then press & hold the power button on the laptop for 10 seconds without the power adapter connected or main battery installed?

    that does not work with laptops anymore.. or has not worked in years... bios is its own beast not fixed by removing power.. i wish....

    I am a laptop tech for toshiba so I know then no problem just have no idea on Lenovo.. I know there has to be a way and not changing out the motherboard...

    there has to be a way.. chances are it's some variant of this..

    But further research shows that it's probably stored in an eeprom.. now those can be flashed/rewritten.. how much do you know about I2C devices? Is there a manufacturers issued bios update and flashing program? .. otherwise it's like the xbox eeprom hacking.. good fun for those with no knowledge..

    I would take ALL technology away from the kids until they either tell you the p/wd or buy a replacement :)
