I see everyone touts the effectiveness of broadband routers as firewalls. I have WBR-3406TX router. I want to to know if there are any settings I need to make in order to provide online firewall protection. I've left wireless security disabled since I'm not worried about local transgressors. Under security settings I have the following cattegories:
    Packet filters
    Domain filterss
    Url blocking
    Mac controll
    Miscellanious

Looks good to me... even though anyone who comes near your house can log into your wireless network and then proceed to do bad things...

Bad things mainly involve hacking. Network worms can spread across the wireless network too.

Yes, I believe that your router is effective with default security settings.
