Ok - first off I'm fairly new to DVD stuff so be gentle with me. Installed a Matshita LF-D311 into my PC and then installed latest DVD-RAM drivers. My Computer now shows Compact disc (D and Removable disc (G I can write and read to the G: drive using drag and drop fine. Problem is that when I have a disc in the drive the D: the drive isn't seeing it. My Computer has no disc label against the D: drive and PowerDVD player also shows no disc label. If I double click the D: icon it says 'Please insert a disc in drive D:' BEFORE installing the DVD-RAM drivers I wasn't having these problems but I didn't of course have the G: drive ! Oddly a commercial DVD title DOES show the disc label information and when double clicked it opens PowerDVD and plays the disc. I've copied the results of a Nero Infotool run below if that helps. Thanks in advance, guys. we used the lf-d311 drives, but have since upgraded to the sw-9572-c. haven't had any troubles with them like the 311s. that may be your best choice or you could wait for the sw-9573-c drives to become available in sept-oct time frame. if you are not dependant on using cartridge media, the sw-9583-c is already available. www.dfwdepot.com
