LF-M621E Panasonic DVD Multi Burner recording problem

    Have recnetly installed the new Panasonic LF-M621 DVD-RAM Burner. It reads in all modes but will not record, it does not even recogise that a DVD-R or DVD_RAM disc is present. The unit has been replaced by Panasonic but nothing has changed. The system previously was fitted with a DVD player, the LF-M621 is now the only drive fitted.
    The Panasonic support desk, a sub-contracted function, has been of little help, I don't think that they even have one of the new drives.
    I have uninstalled and re-installed a number of times and have updated with all of the latest patches etc from Microsoft. The sysem is running on XP Pro.

    Has anybody else seen this problem? Has anybody managed to get this to work?
