I'm having an intermittant problem my 4120B, in that when I insert the blank media into the drive the light will flash for a few seconds and then the mouse pointer will freeze on the screen. I have to reset the system every time which is getting really frustrating. The 4120B is the slave drive with my Samsung DVD-Rom as the master. Both drives are running in Ultra DMA mode 2. Having just been promoted to a junior member, I'll take a guess, although I know my knowledge in this area pales in comparison to folks who have been around here since the dawn of time. I recently had similar problems of my system seizing up. I found it to be a media problem, so you might try a different brand than what you are using.
