I just picked up a new LG GSA-2164D external drive. I have been looking into the drive and found it is a USB 2 drive. I picked up a USB 2 PCI card. Still troubles persist, it will burn about a inch worth on the disc. No information at all is passes to disc. That is when i try to back up a retail DVD. I have been able to copy a home made DVD movie. I am using all the same sofware i have been using before, so it is not a software issue. I have been using DVD X-copy platnium. Any help would be great.
Sorry for not reading thoroughly. I see you can burn a home made DVD. Probably the DVD you are trying to backup is new and has one of the last protections. I've never been fan of DVD X-Copy. Download AnyDVD Trial and try again.
Well i can back up the same movie with my internal in my home PC. I installed the sofware to my office PC and is not working with the external. I don't have a internal one at the office to compare with.
I'm asuming your Work PC is running WinXP/Win2000 and that the USB port is 2.0 and not 1.1, right? I'm also asuming our USB drivers are up to date. So, since USB performance is closely related to CPU power, what kind of processor (and how much RAM) does your Work computer has? Also, since you are in a work environment, are you trying to multitask?
Nope, not doing anything with the PC while it si running. I guess i can try taking the external home and trying it and put my PCI card in my home PC. Thanks
