My DVD burner was burning my disks very slowly, one burn used to take about 13 minutes now took 25 minutes. I went into device manager and IDE , secondary IDE Channel (the one the burners on) and it said it was in PIO mode. I changed the settign to DMA if available and restarted and it went back and the current transfer mode is PIO, but my CD drive on the same channel is DMA. It just started to happen, what can I do to force it to use DMA?

uninstall the drives in device manager than restart windows to see if correct the problem.
