    Your lg drive may simply need a firmware update, the current version is 1.02

    You can get it here if you need it;
    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2209

    Note: Some drives are picky, they'll read cretain media correctly, but not all. Firmware updates can correct this issue if the update contains additional media support which includes the media you're trying to use.

    If you're really want to make sure both drives will read the media of your choice, check the manufactures site to see if they provide a list of supported media and stick to what is accepted by both drives.

    i upgraded the firmware to 1.02 but still the drive can detect that there is dvd rom inside but see nothing on it , i wonder it has something to do with the other pc components? or the disc finalization, or the disc media? and if about the disc why other drives can see what is on ?

    DVD-R media cannot be booktyped as DVD-ROM, the process can only be applied to DVD+R media and only if your burners supports the function.

    here's some info on it;

    I suggest you use media that has been tested to work with your drive, so check with the manufacturers site for an approved media list.
