On the hunt for a good, reliable, dual-layer DVD burner. What would be a better choice between Samsung- S202G DVD burner (20X) or LG- GSA H55LI (20X) dual-layer burner? I could go with 18x as well. However, please advise on which one of these 2 is the better choice and why. Thanks much!!!!
Hi ;-) Despite the Samsung 202 being in essence the same as the 203. It appears to fail to deliver the goods with anything like the aplomb of its stable mate. LG .,,, The 55 is OK very fast, but the quality suffers slightly, If going with LG you'd be better off with the GSA H42LI (18x). This is because they use different chips. So on the IDE front LG GSA H42LI or possibly the Pioneer DVR-112D.
Great... My only reservation with the Pioneer is the fact that it burns CDs only at 40X while the LG burns them at 48X and still have the dual-layer 18x for DVD + and -. Also, where can I buy the LG DVD 18X, then?
Neither of those speeds are really recommended eithere.... 24X tops for audio onto CD & 12X for DVD. If you had a Ferrari you wouldn't drive it 180 MHP down to the local grocery store.
