I recently bought this phone and love it. I also bought a 256 MB Mini SD card to store a few songs on to listen to when Im shopping and whatnot. But for some reason I cant copy anything to the SD Card when It's plugged in to my computer with the adaptor. It also doesnt save movies or anything else to SD card. When I try to copy to it with my PC it says Device Not Ready. Does anyone else have this problem?

have you formatted the mem card yet?
open the phone up>click OK>Settings & Tools>System(should be number 5)>Manage Memory(number 4)>Card Memory(number 3)>then Select "Options"(should see that option in the bottom right corner of the menu)>click on it and it should bring up one option(Format)>click OK...should then begin to format your card and it should then show up on your comp...once formatted it will then show the MY_Flix, MY_mp3, MY_mp3_playlist, and MY_sounds folders when you plug your card into the computer...make sure that you put the card into the adapter and THEN put the adapter AND card into your comp...for some reason it won't read the card if the adapter is already plugged into your computer, and you try to put the card into the adapter...

Also don't forget, that your movies have to be in 3gp or mpeg-4 for hte videos to work...

(I DID NOT write this guide just found it and am posting it here so it will be more abundant for people with cell phones...it appears this guide will work with most newer cell phones(i.e. VX8100, VX8300 and so on)...)
    CONVERTING VIDEO FOR 9800

There are many ways of converting video for your 9800. i am listing one of them that i know to work. There are plenty of threads out there if you want to argue what works best but i am listing this one because all the software you need is FREE and it works.

You will need the following free software before you begin:

    dvd decrypter

    3GP Converter http://www.topdrawerdownloads.com/download/104143

    A Couple Of Extra Notes

    - If you hit error -2048, 1073741571 or -2095, install QuickTime from Apple and try again

    - You convert an AVI files exactly as you convert DVD video files (VOB's)

    - some people prefer to break the movie into multiple VOBs/3GPs, so they don't have to hold down the FF button forever when they want to jump to certain parts. You can accomplish this by converting the chapters of a movie one at time instead of doing the whole movie at once. this might come in handy if you had to stop playing something over an hour into it and wanted to go back where you left off.

I'm still not clear on how to create chapters in either Nero of 3PG.

The following method will create a single VOB file, therefore a single 3PG file, great quality and that includes audio that is in-sync with the video.

Before you decrypt your DVD movie, DVD Decrypter has to be set-up.

First - Click Mode and check IFO I.

Second - Click Tools and open Settings window.

Once in Settings, select the IFO Mode tab and File Mode tab and make the necessary changes.

You're now ready to click the DVD Icon at the bottom of the window to decrypt your movie.

Once your decryption is complete - Open the 3PG_Converter folder and run the Setup.exe and choose General: 3GPP+AAC General Setting. Then run 3GP_Converter (3GP_Converter.exe)
Select QVGA Normal quality 15fps Stereo or Mono. Drop your VTS_01_1.VOB file into 3GP_Converter where it says Drag&Drop files here.

Once you get all that handled just put the newly converted 3gp video in your my flix folder on your mini sd and enjoy!
and let me know how it goes for you...good luck, holla ;)

::sidenote:: you can also directly move MP3 files from your computer to the MY_mp3 folder on your phone without having to sync your phone up to your comp...and also if you want mp3 files can be converted over to 3gp files and play your music through your MY Flix option on your phone...
