life of a burner

    can some tell me the life of a burner? is there something called a burner can be used to burn a specified no of cd's and dvd's? also any good method to keep the burner and lens clean?

    id say 6-9 months the prices they are now i say stuff it i buy a new one every 3months its only $100

    Our Pioneer A07D lasted about 1.5yrs before it gave out, burning 2 DVD's and 2VCD's/day.

    Just got our BenQ DW1655 in and hopefully with the extended warranty, it'll last more than 3 yrs.
