every time i try to print a lightscibe label i get this message: No disc in drive. Please insert a lightscribe disc into the drive with the label side facing down. im using a Samsung SH-S182 and memorex dvd+r lightscribe discs
the disk might not be recognized by the drive because of the LightScribe software on your computer doesn't recognize it. I would go to LightScribe website and see if you can get the newest software with the upgrade for the latest LightScribe and also you can download SureThing SE 4 for LightScribe burning! It's possible that your program is the culprit. find out here: http://www.lightscribe.com/support/index.aspx if it persists contact them directly and they will be happy to help you out! It's free and they are very helpful with any LightScribe problem!
ok ive installed every update for everything known to man and its still not working. i tried using surething se but it didnt work either
is SureThing recognizing your drive as a LightScribe driver or when you load up the picture for printing is the program allowing you to hit the print and nothing happens? what are you doing? Also write to LightScribe.com and explain exactly what you are doing..... what you did and how it's not working and they will walk you through it and help you make it work! they did for me! I have a BenQ 1655 external and I found out it was my firewire hookup that was bad but when I did use the USB hookup it worked fine! go figure! My problem was that with my firewire hookup SureThing and Nero wasn't recognizing my drive as a LightScribe drive. What's happening with yours?
ok i just tested verbatim lightscribe cds and they work perfectly, but y wouldnt the memorex lightscribe ones work?
ok i tried all 10 of my memorex dvds and only 1 of em worked. so the problem is with the them but what could it be?
it's the burner....... it's not recognizing your media, if what you say is correct. maybe a firmware update of your drive might help it recognize your media. But I wouldn't use Memosux for anything. Use Verbatim for LightScribe printing! Verbatim is a top notch media that is the only exception to the Made In Japan rule! I only use media that has the MIJ on it's box or spindle label. Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim only for me! Gives the best results and they cost just as much as the crappy media, too.... so why not get the better media?
The Sure Thing and Sonic software both recognize my drive, but the drive won't recognize the discs. At least most of the time. I bought HP Lightscribe discs - was able to "print" a couple of discs out of a pack of 25. Just keeps telling me I don't have a lightscribe disc inserted - wrong. Nero doesn't recognize I even have a drive. So, based on this thread, I invested in Verbatim LightScribe discs. Same thing. I finally got one to print. No more. Guess I'm through investing in this flaky technogy unless someone has any further ideas. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
@jodyd....... here is my observation: 1. you have revived an old thread and tried to High Jack the thread to your problem..... this is frowned upon here. What you should have done is start your own thread asking for help. 2. in your statements you neglect to mention what kind of drive you have (make and model) and how it's hooked up to your computer. 3. you neglect to tell us what version of Nero and Sonic and SureThing you are using. just start your own thread..... and we will try to help you out!
I have no idea what you're talking about. It appeared my problem seemed in line with the conversation in that thread. I had no intention of "hijacking" anything. FORGET IT!
@jodyd...... you are too sensitive! you're new here..... read the forum rules and understand that only one question should be answered to the person who started the thread! if you have the same problem fine! but to get more answers to your problem you should start your own thread and not redirect the thread that someone else started to your problem. You may have a LightScribe problem but as you can see from my above response that your problem might have a different way to solve it! So ask your question in a new thread and get more people to see it so they can help you. If you are that sensative to someone giving you advise then maybe you shouldn't ask to begin with. I didnt' make the rules up..... but they are there to help everyone proceed in a proper fashion and order to guide us all! so don't be so thin skinned and ask your question in a new thread so members can see it and respond to you and help YOU out! good luck..... welcome to AfterDawn.
