i'm not sure if this is the right spot to post this, but I have a problem. I went into limewire today and all my songs were gone out of no where. I went into itunes and tried to play them and they wouldnt play. it said the original file couldnt be found. It's not a huge problem because i already have all of them on my ipod (well most of them anyways), but i still like to play songs on the computer. is there any way that I can recover those files?

Could you have deleted them by mistake? it may be worth checking your [IMG]

If you cannot see them in there, so a search on your hard drive of one of the missing songs. If you can locate the folder of one of them, the rest should be in the same folder. (You may have just moved your limewire 'saved' folder by mistake :)

its kind of wierd. I searched for a song and i found it. I went to the file that contained it and it had all of the songs. but, when i go into that same file the normal way (its on my desktop) then it doesnt have any of the songs.

Hello, my name is Mykel and im new here but i have a problem with limewire. I cant put my songs that i download from limewire on my ipod. I was at another site and someone posted this site on here and said to go and ask lethal because he was a genius when it comes to the ipod. So I registered and now im here. Now, I've read EVERYTHING on the other site, EVERYONE has tried to help me. If you can explain in detail how to do this i will be forever thankful I swear. I've read about uploading it in the folder, draging the songs etc............ Im computer stiupid to the fullest, i dont even know how to drag the songs. My email address is Mykel1986@aol.com thats the name im always on but right now im on my way to work, but like i said if you can help me do this your a genius no less. I can do it with my cds with no problem but the instructions they send with the nano are useless because i had to figure that out by myself too. Oh well thanks ahead of time, ill be home around 11:30pm central time. Buhbye

Wow, that is rather flattering :)

You want to get Music on your iTunes and then on your iPod...correct?

Well, it is all in the FAQ I wrote --> http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/295183

But i'll break it down for you a little bit..

-[bold]Import tracks already ripped onto your PC. i.e downloaded from P2P networks such as Limewire[/bold]

To import songs of which you already have in a folder on your computer, you will have to locate your folder; (for P2P users, the folder in which your tracks are saved once they have finished downloading).

To add them to your iTunes library one at a time, go [bold]file[/bold]---> [bold]Add file to library[/bold], then locate the folder with your songs in. When you find the song you want to add, double-click it to add it to your library.

To add whole folders of music to the library, go file--->Add folder to library, then locate the folder. Once you have found the folder, click on it once, and hit [bold]OK[/bold] to add the contents of that folder to iTunes.

Then, to get them onto the iPod...

Firstly, connect your iPod to your computer via USB/firewire (high speed preferred).

Once you have hooked your iPod up to your PC, it should show up in the [bold]source menu[/bold], like so:

Right click it & then click [bold]Update[/bold]
