okay, this is probably going to be long, but i really really need your help.

i have a dell dimension 4600, that i've had for almost two years now. when i first got it, i had a linksys wireless adapter put on it (i don't konw the model number).
anyway, i use this machine both at school (where i can use their dsl) and here at my dad's house (where he has wireless dsl).

    here's the problem:
somehow, along the course of cleaning things up, or moving things around, i must have gotten rid of my linksys software on my computer. i dont' know how, but it certainly isn't here.
so i can't set up a wireless connection, becaue my computer doesn't even realize that it has an adapter already on it!!

so i guess i need the software for this unknown linksys model. but i don't know how to get it. i usually keep all my discs in one space, but i've moved so many times since i first put it in, i must hvae lost it.
but i need to be able to recieve wireless!~!~!
    AHHHH, can anyone help?
i'm going crazy using my dad's ancient ibm laptop!!
    any advice is appreciated.

    THANKS A MILLION!

    1. Are you using Windows XP?

    2. Find out the model number, that's probably your only way of obtaining the software through the official site.

check in device manager to see if the card is there or an unknown device or an exclamation mark.
