I think you can, this was going to be my next question as well. SuSE linux is a certain distributor as well as Red Hat, Ubuntu, Slax, etc. KDE is a certain desktop, which is similar to windows, a GUI to help users navigate better. There's also the Gnome desktop.

You can run certain distro's like DSL off a usb flashdrive, provided you have a flashdrive that has at least 50 mb's of free space to install it.

Well I've used DSL alot for hacking, but anything like Ubuntu I could set up? Without having to burn the ISO image to a disc?

Again, kde is NOT a linux distribution, it's an XW desktop enviroment, just like gnome.
Most linux distro's let you choose which one of these two desktops you want use when you install it.
As for the download links, you just pick the right file from those directories.
If you can't figure it out, then you don't want linux, cause this is the EASY PART.

@ arrrsp : hacking you say? with DSL ?
    You're kidding, right ?
I'd bet you wouldn't know a stack overflow from an SQL injection exploit.
Besides, if you're a hacker, surely you would be 31337 enough to figure out which other linux distro's can be found that can be run off a flashdrive, or better yet, how to compile your own linux distro to do that...

Oh wow, you took the time and effort to swear at me, and make yourself look even worse than you already did...
You hacked a dance videogame... Or worse, an arcade machine with a dance videogame.
And you call ME a f@gg0t ? seriously.
I think i'd rather be cought trying to run some kind of windows on an Altair kit...
I think that would be less embarrasing.

Nice to see another "genius" who can't use the quote tags correctly...

I give up, honestly I do. Have you reported the worthless troll D?.. I was telling tocool we should go and fetch the wolves., but then again.. What the hell..it really isn't worth it.

For harryc88.. you can run DSL http://www.damnsmalllinux.org puppy http://www.puppylinux.org and feather http://featherlinux.berlios.de/download.htm from a flash drive. Some are better than others, depends what you want to do.

dsl and puppy sites have download links on them..choose a http mirror..feather is the download usb page.
