I wonder if anyone can solve a problem that I am having. For some reason I am getting a lip sync problem with specific files when I burn things to DVD. The problem seems to be related to commercial breaks in TV shows. If I burn American shows or movies that have no ad breaks the DVD works perfectly fine but if a show has had commercials edited out it begins to unsync, getting progressively worse with each ad edit. The file itself is working fine if I watch it via VLC or any other media player. I am using the 2 pass option but this doesn't help and I am using "Verbatim" Blank DVD's that were recommended by someone here. Could anyone advise what the problem could be? Cheers
Sometime, files with variable bit rate audio can go out of sync when converted to another format. If this is an AVI file and it has VBR audio, drag it into Avidemux. If a message pops up saying that it wants to build the VBR timemap, let it and do the following. Set the left hand menu as shown and change the audio to CBR. Save the file, giving it a full name including extension, e.g. newfile.avi http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/avidemux.cfm
That software has solved the sync problem, but now the episode freezes in places! I've set Avidemux exactly as advised, any ideas?
Try loading/dragging the second file in 'VirtualDub'. If it loads ok, click 'Video' => 'Direct Stream Copy'. Click 'File' => 'Save as AVI' see if it makes a difference. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/virtualdub.cfm
