Does anyone know if either the LVW 5005 or the LVW 5045 has the ability to edit out the commercials before you finalize the DVD? I am still choosing between the two of these which one I will buy. Also, can the 5045 control your digital cable box or do you have to set the box to the channel you will record (like the 5005 and the old VCRs). Lastly, if you cannot edit out the commercials on the 5005 can you use editing software on your computer, even after you have alreay finalized your recorded DVD? I am purchasing this Monday. Thanks
Hi, I also have a new 5005 and I'm planning on buying a 5045 this week. I have been putting the pause button on during the commericals and after looking it over I see no way of erasing commericals in the 5005. I read that you can edit it in the 5045 because of the hard drive but I'm not sure. Hmmm, Let me know what you find out ok? Freida
