    Yes, it does support booktyping. Lite-On recognizes Nero, DVDDecrypter,ImageBurn etc and the other burning programs that have built in internal booktyping utilities. For other programs that don't have internal booktyping capability like CloneDVD2 use this utility from Lite-On corporation and you should be good to go...

    FYI, this drive seems to prefer the 16X DVD media over the 8X.
