liteon ldw-411s having problems with DVD-r media

    Hi all,
    I just got the 411s burner. I am using TDK 2x DVD-r media, and Memorex 4X DVD-r media. these are from the actual manufacturer,not cheapy imitations. I have burned several movies with my Sony 500X not problem. When I burn with my liteon I get about 2/3 of the way though and get illegal media errors. I have tried Nero 6, and also burning an ISO with dvd decrypter. Same problem with both. I also have the latest liteon firmware update installed. Running on Windows 2000 pro with SP4. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I've had my best results with Princo 1-4 speed DVD-R media.

    I fixed my issue. It appears the 411s needs the 80 wire ide connector. Once I replace my older 40 wire with 80 I burned to my TDK, Memorex and Ritec 4 x media fine. Hope this helps others in the forum.
