New to this technology. I have chosen to automatically loaad my songs onto the iPod that I've ripped from cd onto the computer. Now the computer is running slow as I have such a long iTunes list taking up space. How do I remove the songs from the computer, yet make sure when I update songs they remain on my iPod? Should I have chosen to do this manually instead of automatically?

You probably want the songs on your computer, because if you do remove then, the next time you polug your iPod min, it will remove all the songs on the iPod that you removed on your computer, and getting them back is a real pain.

Go to edit>prefferences>clcik on the "iPod" tab>then you can put a check next to what you want to do, automatically update selected playlists only, or manually update songs, so yes, I would chose the "manually update songs"
    Hoped this helped
