Hi, just wondering if it is possible to load a wireless gaming adapter's firmware on a normal router. I have a (close to non-working)belkin normal G router and a Dlink DI-514 router. I would like to be able to use one of them as a wireless gaming adapter for my Xbox. any info would be much appreciated

I would have to say no on this one.

Non wireless routers do not have the components necessary for wireless use, i.e. there is no transceiver built in. So, the firmware will not work..and if you do perchance get it installed, it will most likely cause the router to quit functioning altogether.

actually, they are both wireless. i know enough that you cant use a non wireless as a wireless.

If the firmware update are for those models, then I'd say give them a shot.

what if they are not necessarily for the same router, but are for the same brand. for example, I download the firmware for a dlink wireless gaming adapter and load it to my dlink router. do you think that would be possible?
