local area connection

    I have three lan high speed connections nivida nforec networking controller, 1394 net adapter, and marvel yukon. Nivida connection doesn't work it says that there is a network cable unplogged, so what do I do to make it work and also what is a network cable, i have service pack 2.

    check all of you connection cables, make sure that they are all securely plugged in and then reboot your pc. it has happened to me in the past. you should be fine after that.

    but the other two are working I dont understand why this one doesn't.

    also make sure your ethernet (network) cables have all the wires in em: the ones you get from dsl companies sometimes only have 4 wires as opposed to 8. (took me 3 days to figure this one out a while back, after switching from dsl to cable, and attempting to use ethernet cables i had lying around)

    It wasn't mention but sometimes we overlook the small things:
    Right click on the connection and make sure it's enabled.
