Okay, so my old DVD burner has completely crapped out, and it's time for a new one. Given that my old one is just under a year old, I want to better research this one instead of just going for what looks like a "Deal." I've read a few threads similiar to this one . . . and I have been looking at BenQ's. My question though is - which is better. BenQ or Sony? The orignal DVD burner I had in this computer was a Sony (back in the days of 2.4x single layer, single format burners) and that burner is still functioning - just in another computer, and out of my access. The current peice of garbage in my computer is a Pioneer. Drives I'm looking at: 16X DVD+/-R/RW Dual Layer OEM Beige (DWQ30A) by Sony the Benq 16X DVD/CD - DW1655 Any others that are recomended? Thanks for any and all help!
Before this thread gets flooded by the all the BenQ fanatics out there here are my recommendations: BenQ DW1650 BenQ DW1655 (Same as DW1650 but w/Lightscribe) Plextor PX740A (BenQ 1640 internals) Oh and if money isn't an issue the new Plextor PX760SA Most of the drives I recommend are BenQ, since I bought mine I've been happy with 'em ever since...now I'm just waiting for the BenQ BW1000...
