looking all over the internet for a scanner that you would swipe or scan a card that would access some type of data base. I been helping the gym i go to get up and going to the computer age and they are starting to get so big they want some kind of card swiper or scanner that a person would use and show up on their computer at front desk... what member ship plan they have when there bill is due when they last paid how long since their last visit but i can only find credit card scanners...just wondering if anyone knows of a place that would sell something like this i could look at and or get a hold of.
You might have better luck with a smartcard system...those are the cards that you slide in about 3/4 of the way, and there are some contacts in a square on the end that goes into the reader. These are cheap, and they have an added bonus. You can configure the reader to only work while the card is in the slot...this prevents one person from bringing 5 friends and swiping them all in.
Hmmm....not sure. You might consider contacting a few places that specialize in laundry mat card readers.
