I don't want something i have to open and unlock everytime i need it. i would like something that when i click on that drive or folder it pops up and asks for the password. is there anything like this out there? Thanks!
I appreciate the link, however, don't see an option on any of those software to ask for a password when clicking on the drive or folder.
Like I said, Google is good... Just google the name plus "download" for each: Disk Password Protection download gets you this: https://www.ixquick.com/do/search
folder lock box is most probably what your after. There's the free version & pro http://fspro.net/my-lockbox/ scroll down the page center for download link with out open candy installer My Lockbox enables you to hide, lock and password protect almost any folder on your computer. You can use My Lockbox to hide your private data from prying eyes - your files will be not accessible both from local and remote users. It'd be good for you as well 2old to hide all that pron you've collected over the years, then again at your age it most probably doesn't interest you anymore
he he, it's been so long since my porn days that it's all stored under a layer of dust in my attic on 5 1/4 in. floppies..
No, I had a TRS80 model I and it had 5 1/4". The model II had 8" so people would think it held more data. Actually it held the same as the 5 1/4". The model III was the best and model IV took the 16K B.A.S.I.C. rom off to give us machine coders more memory, instead of 48K of usable ram it had 64K.. Today, doesn't 64 kilobytes of ram impress you?
My first bought computer 1977: TRS80 model I, Level 2 B.A.S.I.C., 16 kB ram and a tape recorder to store programs and data..
I think the 8" disks I have that are still sealed are marked as 1meg storage capacity not the 180kb single side 360kb double side 5.25" disks.
Most of the floppies I had any dealings with had 40 tracks, 10 sectors per track with 256 bytes per sector or 102.4 kB per disk. Tandy computers only used 35 tracks..... I guess that was a little before your time, ddp, huh?
my stepfather had the model 3 or 4 that came with 2 5.25" full height drives that he bought in the mid 80's.
That's about the time I was working for Tandy. Mod 3 and 4 had 2 drives in the cabinet and you could add 2 outboard drives to give four 5 1/4's.... I sold a ton of those to the education service center and schools in my district...
