Is your current system AGP or PCI express? That's not included in the specs, but you must have known in order to buy the correct X1550.
hi and thanx for the reply. i just used Sisoft sandra software and got this from it so i pressume its AGP. Video Adapter : SAPPHIRE Radeon X1550 Series (PS3.0, VS3.0 546MHz, 256MB 396MHz, AGP 3.00) if you want i can take a digital photo with the cover off the tower if it helps. thanx for the help its appreciated Mick
Then none of the cards listed will work, as they are PCI Express. This is an AGP version: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/179446
thanx for the reply. ill check the link out. as you might of gathered my machine is a little ouf of date as ive had it around 7 years now, so far no major problems and does everything i need it to do, apart from the odd game or 2. are there any good agp cards out there as my birthday is coming soon so i could get a descent one. thanx Mick
Unfortunately no, AGP Was obsoleted in 2004, and no high performance cards have been designed for it for years.
o well just my luck, thanx for all your help m8. that card you showed me earlier. is that the only one around i can check out. as long as its better than the card i have now id be interested in checking it out Mick
It's at least 4-5 times as powerful, I know that much. There are other cards in that price range, but the HD4650 is the best you'll find.
once again thanx for all the help it was more than appreciated, ill prob end up getting that card then come my birthday in a couple of weeks. this topic can now be closed. Mick
