Does anybody know of a single machine that can do all these things?

Hard Disk Recorder (at least 120 gig) with PC connection

    and / or

    Multi Format DVD recorder

With Built in Freeview (twin tuners would be nice)

    now the tricky part..........

I want it to upscale DVD playback too! I know there are dvd players that can do it but what about an all in one?
My TV does not have HDMI input but does have DVI-D so this upscaling
can be through DVI output or a HDMI - DVI cable, I'm not fussy.

I know I could also use component but I want to keep my component inputs free for the xbox.

I really want to upgrade to an upscaling dvd player but also think it's about time i got a dvd or HD recorder. It's a mess when you add a digi box so i want it all in one box.

so,,,,does thing thing i want exist yet?

Well you Know those HD DVD Players that Upscale the Image to HD do not Produce very Good Image Quality because anytime you Resize an Image that Much No Matter what algorythm it is useing to Resize you Loose a Lot of the Image Clarity....
They do Look Better than a Regular DVD Player when hooked up to HD but it definately isn"t HD Quality.....

    Good luck in your search....

    Cheers

thnkas for that, i'll keep it in mind. i would have to see one running before i ever handed over the cash.

i just wondered if anybody had botehred to put all this stuff together yet. i suppose even one that didn't upscale would be fine.
my pal dvd's run at 576i and they look good (but not enough to make me say wow!)

i have the xbox going at 480p now and that is WOW!
(by switching it from PAL to NTSC)

tell you what, maybe i should look into a NTSC dvd player,
do you know if my PAL dvds would play on one?

doesn't exactly replace a hard drive recorder with freeview box though?

Chrisfunk: Generally a NTSC DVD Player will NOT play Pal DVD"s Unless it is a DVD Player That can Convert Pal to NTSC on Playback or supports Both standards...

There should be some Players that should Play back Both Formats....
