Ok so after a good amount of service out of my Hewlett Packard Dv1000 laptop the powercord has finally stoped working. I do however have a similar cord that i have been using that works but it is not mine and i must return it to the person it belongs to. My question is does anyone know where i can get a new ac adapter pretty cheap? Also what exactly is the difference between the 75 watt n 90 watt adapters?

This site is the best place i have found so far. While searching around the web. http://www.kahlon.com/

Thank you all for your help and information. I really appreciate your time.

90 watts is better then 75 watts. voltage x amperage = watts. have to have the correct voltage plus the minimum rated amperage for device to work properly.

It arrived and he tried it out.

It doesn't seem to work, which is highly troubling because it was made for his model of labtop. He plugged it in and the labtop wouldn't even boot.

He borrow his mom's adapter and it works 100% fine so we don't think it is his labtop.

Never had to try to fight someone from Amazon Marketplace before >.<

Do you have a multimeter to test output voltage vs the working power supply?

Are the plugs (laptop end) identical in size and shape (inside and outside)?

Why did you buy from a seler with only 95% rating and no posted returns policy?
