Hey guys, I am looking to buy a new capture card that can do a couple of things. I need something fast so I can transfer some VHS tapes without and dropped frames and I would like it to be able to handle HD. I am doing the tapes as a business and any suggestions would be great.

    Why HD?
VHS is far from HD, so you don't need anything fancy to do this.
A Hauppauge PVR-150 is easy and fast.

I know I just figured if I was going to shell out the cash for one I should get something that can do HD if I need to in the future. Thanks for the suggestion.

done feb dont know if you done have a card or not but newegg has several reasonably priced i bought a compro gold about a year ago does a great job to mpeg-2 mpeg-1 vcd svcd i usually go with mpeg-2 because you will get a better quality movie its hard to get a one pass avi in good quality format , have converted to mpeg-2 then re encode to divx avi one multi-pass your better avi's will be multi-pass
