And i would like to know what people reccommend me to get. I've seen post after post on these Benq drives and new egg has a pretty good price on one. I have one of those LG 4166B drives but you can't test the disk for PI errors and failures and i want to be able to do that. Thank you to all that give me their thoughts.

Just picked up another Benq 1650 from NewEgg $35.00 You can't beat the quality of these drives It's a damn close race between my $200.00 Plextor 716 and this Benq. Expenditure out classes the Plextor Guarantee you won't be sorry with the Benq. Chris

    Benq 1650!

Myself, and a lot of my AD buddies have this drive and are getting very good results.

For $35, I don't know if they throw in any software for it. I got Nero 6.6.0.14 oem with my 1650 and I am very happy with it. Nero recode 2,full use of the nero disc scanning tests, and On the fly ripinnging and burning!

Dowload qsuite 2.0 or 2.1 to get some other great programs to go with that burner.

Newegg and Benq: When newegg.com gets a hold of a hot model # for benq drives, they sell out very quickly and takes a while to get some in.

ChrisC586 , i sure hope you didnt pay 200 bucks for a PX-716A you can buy them retail for 129.00 dollars max. Plextor is the top drive on the market if you want to spend that much my next choice would be either the BenQ or Lite-On drives

Should've added it's a 716uf I bought back about 2 years ago they've came down a bit to about $200.00 now. It's still my Cadillac Limo, and the Benq is a Cadillac in Hugo pricing.I've got one of the Benqs in an external enclosure and these drives so far are outstanding.I haven't burnt as much with the Benqs as with my Plextor but they do out perform my Lite On's and my Nec and the new Samsung I just picked up.The Benq seems to like the Verbs a bit better than the Ty's where as my other drives prefer the Ty's but that may be in my set ups since I'm still playing with the Benqs. Happy Burnin Chris

thats correct the Lite-Ons do like Verbatims better and the Plextors like Taiyo Yuden ,which is the media Plextor uses to test there drives
