(this is a long sad story and i thank you for even spending the time to read it) this morning i had all my videos working fine. however at some point today things changed. some files that worked today now play with sound but no video. I thought at first it was a codec thing so downloaded avicodec and gspot and am now pretty sure that i have the codecs. avicodec tells me i have no problem with files like mp43 xvid but files that are mpg2 div3 and said to be supported by avicodec play with sound but not video. what is strange is that when i look at files picture representation it shows a scene from the video. i always thought that it just showed the media player symbol if i didn't have the codec. the only thing i can think that i installed was NERO but i can't see how this would affect things Thanks for any help you can give me
a little more information... the div3 file can be played in the divx player but not the windows media player which again makes me think it isn't a missing codec thing.
