Hi, newbie here, hope this is the right forum. I took concert footage on my mobile and on the advice of this website downloaded the VLC Media Player so I could play the MP4 file on my PC. I get the video but no sound whatsoever. What have I done wrong?? thanks
See if GSpot can identify the file, by dragging it onto GSpot and if it shows the audio as being present. http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/GSpot270a.zip This (example only) shows the audio as AC3 and a system codec as being installed (although VLC has it's own codecs independent of the system).
Hi Ok - I think I may have done this now - the Audio section says CODEC - samr: AMR Narrowband and Stat - Status Undetermined. Aaaarrrggghhh I just want to put the clip on YouTube !!!
I don't know where you would find that decoder, but you could change the file to another format using this program. Drag the file into the window, select a new output container (AVI?) and see if it's ok. SuperĀ© converts everything (almost) Information: http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html Download from Afterdawn http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/super.cfm
thanks for your help but I'm just not having any joy with this at all. I'm just getting a giant Q with a question mark in it. I'll maybe contact Samsung becuase I don't think it should be this difficult. Sadly I am gigging again in 2 weeks timne so the same is going to happen......
