low level format

    hello there i want to low level format my drive i have a 160GB seagate sata drive i know this will write just 0's on the the disk but once its done formatting can i just reinstall windows on it or is there some sort of program i need to load on the disk first

    you CAN just load windows and no you dont need another program

    P.S. how do you get rid of a second os on the same hdd?

    u could partition that part of the hard drive using partition magic then format it then rejoin it back

    thanx forthe reply how long would u think this low level format take on my 160 gb

    The Format itself? Not long, The re-partitioning 2-3 hrs, installing windows Xp 1hr tops.
