i recently had two xboxes with a thomson and one with a samsung. neither xbox would play xbox live games, i cleaned the lazers in each xbox and they would load the game but freeze. then i decided to see what would happen if i swapped the cd drives in the two xboxes.
i swapped the cd drives and put in a game that wasnt working and it worked. then i decided to try the other xbox the same thing happened.
both xboxes are softmodded. and before i swapped the cd drives the drives made noises like they were going bad. after the swap though they sound like a normal brand new xbox cd drive.
does anyone know what happened or was it just fate?
i thought it was something like the firmware on the drives were changed, but you would figure if that happened they wouldnt work.
i was wondering if anyone could explain this phenomon

    Magic???

Freezing games are normally caused by a corrupt E:\Cache
