I have the M3 simply and I let a friend borrow it and he loved it so he ordered himself one of the new M3 Real cartridges.

So I loaded it up for him and tested it in my DS and everything was perfect. But when we put it in his newer Crimson DS Lite it doesn't load.

So basically, his DS works fine with the M3 Simply but refuses to boot the M3 Real. My DS will play them both fine.

Any ideas why his DS refuses to boot the M3 Real?

He has a crimson (red + black) DS, only about 1 month old.

it's look like your frien have own limited edition of NDS lite console..suggest to search with search engine to find out anyone have same problem or not..try to download latest firmware of M3 Real to see does it work..or back up all game in Your TF card and reformat TF card, put in latest firmware and few games to see does it work..i hunt for Crimson DS lite console but never found one..

I've also heard that the crimson DS is hit or miss with some of the flash carts. You should switch flash carts with your buddy if it doesn't make a difference to you.

That's probably what we're going to do.

I just wish I knew exactly why his particular DS is rejecting the M3 REAL but not the M3 SIMPLY.

I'm positive it has something to do with how the crimson was designed. I've seen other posts about flash carts not working on them, but at least your friend can get the M3 working on it.

I have the same problem with a M3 Real Card. Works fine in my "white" DS lite but does not boot on my nephews "grey" DS Lite. The model numbers appear to be the same...

There is only one time when it does boot up on his and that is just after I have taken it out of mine and placed it in his. If he switches his on, off and then back on again it it stops working... very strange... all other games are working fine in his unit...

    Any ideas ?

it sounds like a contact problem mate between the m3ds real and your nephews "grey" DS Lite.

is there any dust or dirt in the slot of the ds , iff not the paper trick might work as follows -

cut a thin piece of card the same width of the m3real but about 1 inch longer

put the piece of cut card on the sticker side of your m3 real and insert it in the ds .

the thin piece of card gently pushes the m3real contacts closer to the contacts inside the ds and should then work ,
