    Hi there
I have M3 DS Real. I downloaded the latest firmware at http://www.handheldsources.com/M3DS/Download_M3DSR.html
I unzipped the file and it created the system folder. I copied the whole folder into the micro SD. the folder name is "system" with no dashes..I also downloaded moonshl and copied it to the micro SD. I also have the _ds_mshl.nds file in the root. I created a folder called NDS and copied the game files (with extensions xxxx.nds.dsq and xxxx.nds.sav). Then I loaded the micro SD card into the M3 REal and started the ds lite. I can see different options. However, when I choose the folder NDS, I don't see any games listed. (I can see it when I look into using the card reader).

How can I see the files and play them? Pleaaaaaaaaaase help. I read somewhere that I need some .dat file. I am unable to find it.

Please let me know what to do.. thanks

hello and dont panic you will be playing roms easy enough mate , as follows -

first delete all files from your memory card and start again .

1, only copy the SYSTEM folder to your memory card .

2, create a NDS folder on your memory card .

3, put your games in the NDS folder , Important your games must be in .nds format only ( not .dsq or .sav ), your m3ds real will create its own save file when you play the game for the first time .

thats it mate simple enough .

also no need to copy moonshell to your memory card as its already installed in your system folder !

so to recap delete all files from your memory card and follow the my instructions .

any more questions let me know , woof811.

    Hi Woof811,
I deleted all the files, copied the system folder and the NDS folder containing the games. When I start the ds and try to find the games, I am unable to see the games. When I went into to the folders in the DS (using the DS interface), I don't see the game files.

Is there a way to convert the extensions .dsq and .sav to .nds externally (using pc). At this point, based on your advice, looks like the file extension might be the problem.

    Please help.
thanks for your kind help and time.

hello again i would say 100% that your problem is you are trying to play .dsq and .sav files !

a m3ds real will only play .nds files and as for trying to convert .dsq to .nds i dont think thats possible ( i could be wrong though )

the best thing you could do is download some .nds games and put them in your NDS folder .

try here for .nds games -

    http://www.dgemu.com/ ( normally lets you download 1 game a day )

    http://www.nds-roms.com/?act=roms

    http://frozen-roms.in/latest_nds.html

once you download any games unrar them so they are in .nds format and put them in your NDS folder , you should be able to play games then mate .

    Hi Woof811
yes, it is the issue with the file extension. Once I loaded .nds file, it works like a charm. Appreciate you saving my time and peace of mind.
    thanks

The rumble pack only works with certain games that support the rumble pack such as Metroid Pinball.

to unrar the downloaded games you will need winrar or any other type un uncrompressing software , 7 zip is free and you can get it here - http://www.7-zip.org/

once you have unrared the games they will then be .nds games , these then go onto your memory card in the NDS folder .

If you have the 7-Zip program you just have to right-click the file you want to unrar and choose "7-Zip" + "Extract".

Or you could open 7-Zip, and then browse to find the file you want to unrar (or unzip or whatever), you click on that file and choose "unpack" (or something like that). Then you can choose where to unpack it.

I'm having the same problem as the start of this thread now on two different M3 DS Reals....

My Daughter's had one for about 2 months and started having the problem after about 2 weeks. I just ordered another M3 DS Real for a friend and set it all up only to find that it has the problem right off the bat...

When you go into NDS from the main menu for games, it flashes something like "listing games" ever so quickly, but then does not make a list - just has an empty screen...A workaround my daughter has been doing for months is to just browse into the NDS folder thru the card and not going into the NDS icon...Then you see a listing of all games and can still just choose one....But why am I having this problem displaying games thru the NDS icon? Especially on two different cards...

    - Both cards are on latest (E21), but one card has had the same issue thru several different revisions - the other card is brand new.
    - I've tried upper and lower case on the name of the NDS folder.
    - there are NO files other than .nds files in the NDS folder (no sav's or anything else).
    - I removed all special chars from all the games' filenames (no &, -, ., etc).
    - The new card only has 3 games on it, not like theres 100 or anything.

Anyone have any ideas for me?

    Thanks!
