I have a version of mac os x that can run on a pc. I have looked into installing the file with ubuntu. I have learned this shell command dd bs=1048576 if=./tiger-x86-flat.img of=/dev/hda , but you have to unmount the drive to not get an access denied error. When I unmount the drive and type in the command I get an error message that the directory now does not exist. How can I get this to work?
Forget what I just said.I fixed it but now theres another problem.I know it dose not take less than 4 min. to install an OS.Does anyone think its just a bad image file? Here is a log. ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo dd if=/media/apple/tiger-x86-flat.img of=/dev/hdb1 bs=16k393183+0 records in 393183+0 records out 6441910272 bytes (6.4 GB) copied, 215.71 seconds, 29.9 MB/s

Don't even try to use pear PC (it's very SLOW). The uneasy silence one didn't work for me and it's an old version. Your best chance to get Mac Os X 10.4.8 working on AMD or Intel is to look in the torrent section in the fourms and download 10.4.8 and burn the IMG on a DVD.(NOTE: Make sure you hit custom instaltion and choose either AMD or Intel and common devices.)(NOTE: You will have to keep the DVD in the drive everytime you start Mac.) This works good except for some drivers that don't work, my USB and audio don't work. This is usaully fast, on my intel 3.07GHz Mac takes about 10 seconds to start when it goes on the loading screen.
