macrovision removal

    Can you tell me how to remove the macrovision on my philips dvdr985?

    i dont think you can disbale macrovison from the player it self, you can get round it by using a in line filter that will take the signal out.

    I have just got one for my mate for £30, all it is a scart plug that plugs into the mains and thats it, he tells me it works a treat, so he`s happy

    First of all make sure what you are trying to do with your philips dvd recorder is for dvd or vhs. because macrovision tend to be copy protection for vhs and cgms for dvd. If your trying to record a dvd, you need to disable the copy protection from the player not the recorder. for macrovision, there are plenty of device you can get. Look for them on ebay or www.lik-sang.com For cgms, its a bit more difficult but you can get a hacked dvd player.
