    Hi,
When you run the program that creates the DVD, it will automatically convert the AVI files into the proper file format needed for DVD playback. The program you have helps you edit the video. "Adobe Encore DVD" is the software that takes your AVI files and creates the DVD with them.
There are also many other DVD authoring programs that will work depending on what computer you use (mac or ibm), but the Adobe Encore DVD software is made to work as the DVD creation component after using Adobe Premiere to finish the video editing part. These two programs are sold separately, but also are often sold together - so make sure you don't already have it before you go buy it.
