Greetings. I've searched on this forum and can't find an answer to my question. I downloaded an .avi file recently that didn't have the divx watermark on the bottom right of the screen when it started playing. My question is which DivX program do I use to get that watermark? Also, if I get that watermark, does my file stay as an .avi or does it convert to a DivX file? Thanks.

The DivX watermark basically just means that DivX's decoder is being used and you haven't disabled the watermark. Never seen a post where someone wanted to get the watermark, only ones where people wanted to get rid of. Container has no effect. The file could be ogm, avi, mkv, dsm or whatever as long as the video can be decoded via DivX.
