I recently downloaded LOST episodes... like 15 of them... and i would like to make them into a DVD. They are in AVI format and with the .SRT subtiles. only about 8 or 9 fits onto 1 DVD... so i would have to make 2 of them... which is OK. but i would like to know... HOW do i make a DVD out of these AVI files? in Nero when i go DVD video.. it gives me two folders... Video and Audio... and i cant insert the files in there... only outside those folders... will that still work??

    any help is appreciated.

    Hello....

First you need to encode those AVIs onto DVD format (MPEG-2). You can use TMPG Enc for that (30 day trial free). Once you have all your AVI's encoded you can use an authoring tool such as TMPG DVD Author (also 30 day trial free) which enables to create even a simple menu for selecting between different movies. Now, if you say you have subtitles then I think you'll have to use DVDLab which enables the inclusion of subtitles.

If you check the Guides section in this website, you'll find several guides about this stuff.

Hey I was in your same predicament a little while ago and I solved it. First I downloaded the episodes which you have already done then I have checked out about how many episodes (in dvd format I could fit onto one dvd I recommend only putting about 800 mbs of avi to one dvd but you can put more if your want or less if ur afraid of quality loss. Anyways then I downloaded VSO's absolutely amazing software divxtodvd from vsosoftware.fr and then on the main menu I added all of the movie files that I wanted on the first disk. Example I added 6 episodes of one hour each onto the program I'd rather not tell what show then chose an output file and converted. Now many afterdawn gurus will disagree with me and I don't understand no one beleives that this program can convert multiple avis into one dvd (vob and ifo) video file. Just remember at the main screen here::

    www.geocities.com/dansky12/vso.gif

Select all the files you want an output folder and in no time u will have a folder that can be burnt onto a dvd with nero tmpgenc dvd authour or almost any other software.

It's no secret that VSO DivxToDVD can combine and convert more than one avis into DVD compliant format at one time.

Yea DivxToDvd doesn't create menus but I use nero vision express for that.
