I heard that a photographer/videographer was making pictures from his videos. He was shooting an equine barrel event and printing the best shot off onto photo paper. Is that possible? If so, how? What equipment is needed? Thank you, Rita
Most video editing software have a Capture Frame button ! Look at the software you have , it might be there ! Select a frame then click to save to the folder you want!
I don't have a camcorder yet. I am a photographer and wanted to find out how I could use that technology in my business, if the information was correct. Since it is, (thank you) I need further information, if you don't mind. What is the pixel range for such a photo? And the quality? Unfortunately I pay big bucks for my digital cameras & SLR lenses because my customers expect quality pictures. It breaks the bank sometimes but.... I sure would appreciate all the help you can give. It would mean the difference between getting that much wanted shot that the rider is wanting or missing it all together and having a very disappointed customer.
This would all depend on the quality of the source ! How much you spend for a Camcorder is subjective ! Depends on how much you can afford. That would be your source. Next the quality of the software you use to play it back, so you can stop it on a frame and capture that Frame. Dont forget that it is possible to enhance any frame with other Imagery software .. where again it all depends on what you want to spend.
Being that I am in the business of pictures I would like to purchase (in the near future) the equipment that would make me competitive in my field. Would you have any suggestions on the types of equipment I could consider, or a site to investigate, for when I get to the point of shopping? And software that would be user friendly but outstanding for the work it produces? I have an aptitude for learning all this but my husband/partner does not and I would like to include him on the editing so it would have to be more user friendly and less, I need a Bachelor or Science Degree, to grasp. Thank you for your insight. Rita
Canon has the very best in camcorder , am told, my friend has a GL2 but his dream is to acquire the XL H1 ! He does weddings ! Here's where you dip in your pocket book, the latter is close to 9000$ US vs 2800$ US for the GL2 -- I have seen some of the still captures he has put on prints, they are simply breathtaking. For photo Editing , he uses Adobe Photoshop Creative Suite Premium CS2; recognized as the choice of the expert -- about 850$ US The Computer to handle graphics is a Mac OS X -- Apple has always been the leader in Graphics. So to sum it up, maybe you should research along those lines ! Good Luck in your project , I have to get back to work <<smiles>>
I have made a business proposition to my son. He's 20 yrs old and has started college but is not serious about his future. So I have asked him to drop college for this semester and start a business venture that would coincide with my photography business I proposed that he become my partner in the camcorder venture. I offered to him, to purchase the camcorder and editing software. He would operate the camcorder at the different events I have planned for this year, listed on my calendar on my website. We would split the profits until the unit was paid for, plus $1000. And the setup would become his to do with as he wishes. I have done this to try and re-direct his life to a more positive level. He's incredibly smart and I feel would absorb all he would need to learn to make this a profitable business for him. Who knows, he might decide that he wants to become a photo journalist or something in that related field. I hope so! So, I have started listing items for sale on Ebay to come up with the monies to purchase the camcorder, software, etc. It has come for me to part with my Minolta Maxxum 35mm lens. It's sad. Mostly because that's what got me started. But I have outgrown all that. And it's just collecting dust in my closet. Thank you so much for your knowledge and I shall use it to make what I hope is a good decision. If you should have anything more to add in helping me to make the right choices I sure would appreciate it. Sincerely, Rita
Hi there again, I use winDVD for capturing stills from DVDs. I am not sure how good the quality would be for the stills though. I would imagine that you would need a fairly decent one to get the quality you need.
