I was wondering if compressing the matrix series on to dvds would be a bad idea. Because these have a lot of black, and black seems to show the most quality loss. Anyone who has done this, or with an idea how?

if you're talking about the matrix movies as in neo and morpheus and all that jazz, go ahead, i have the trilogy backed up and the quality is excellent. sure beats the hell out of having your kid use it as a frisbee :)

I have this backed up as well. The best quality on these will always be with getting rid of all the extras. I do have to say though I have the matrix revolutions that is an exact copy compressed down 50 percent and it looks like the original. With compression you really never know. Its all on the disk really.
