maximize after right clicking on taskbar item

Hi, this isn't really a big issue but I was wondering if like when u right click on a minimized taskbar icon and then left click it is then not able to be minimized using the taskbar item which i use. Is there a way to stop this type of activity is there a registry key or something to stop that from happening? I ask because i always minimize using the taskbar items and not the minimize button. Thanks.
