I Have a 7170 n HP Media Center. My question is once I download movies from my tv on to I have no idea how to convert if needed to a dvd.

Really in need of a step by step on this topic. An is DVD-R or DVD+R which is best for this? Thank You

    Hi CraftNMom,

Don't have an HP but do have a Dell with MCE 2005. There is an option under 'More Programs' in the MCE menu called 'CREATE DVD/CD'. This allows one to burn a DVD of a MCE recorded TV show. Hopefully this option or one similar is present in your HP version of MCE.

    regards

Note, in my case the 'burn' is not automatic, first the program must be recorded to the hard drive via MCE. Once this is done you should be able to make the DVD via the MCE selection. I have had good results doing this. The only cases I have had problems was with a few DRM protected programs like 'The Soprano's' on HBO. It is protected so that it only plays back on the PC that recorded it and MCE will not allow it to be burned to a DVD. These cases are not very common as of now.

    good luck

Your right about the last part I am unable to burn so it must be right protected. It is not allowing the burn. So I did take it to a VSO to convert it and it would not convert. Would you happen to know if it can be decoded or convert so that it can be burned? Thank You again
