Hi all Ive got a elonex artisan media center which came with an rc6 remote have had this for about 5 years and recently upgraded it to windows 7 the remote has worked fine with windows 7 but has now stopped working I have tried system restore to a date when I knew the remote was working and changed the battiers ect the ir I belive is built in as I dont have a seperate usb plug for it. Any ideas on were to start looking to fix this the remote light comes on on the remote when buttons are pressed so dont think thats dead and the mediacenter is connected to the main tv in the house so ir does get a lot of use Thanks for any info on this Bri
You could try reinstalling the device driver for the receiver. Even though it is built in (assuming it is like mine) the ir receiver will be considered a USB device. Go into the device manager. Look for something about an IR receiver. Mine appears at eHome Infrared receiver. Uninstall, restart the computer and it should reinstall by itself. If it doesn't it might be a hardware problem.
